Greek Wines

Greece's dramatic seascapes, sun-bathed islands & volcanic soils help create unique flavor characteristics. It's as if each bottle contains the essence of Greece itself: sun, sea & stone.

The country's isolation and varied topography have also helped preserve indigenous grape varieties - many of which can’t be found anywhere else in the world. From Assyrtiko, grown in the volcanic soils of Santorini, to the earthy & tannic Xinomavro, each varietal is as unique as it is ancient.

Greece is also home to multiple volcanos, which create its famous volcanic soils. This mineral-rich earth is full of nutrients and has a unique ability to retain moisture. This allows vines to thrive in environments where other crops might falter. Winemakers adore these soils for their fertility and ability to create wines with unparalleled complexity & minerality. In fact, the wines are so good the Greeks dedicated their god, Dionysus, to wine!

This month we’ve included some of our favorites Greek wines, all made by small winemakers dedicated to biodynamic farming & minimal intervention winemaking. We hope you enjoy!
